Why Does Fasting Work So Well?
Reason #1: Reduced Hunger
The science shows that when fasting, the hunger hormone ghrelin drastically reduces over time. Where most other diets leave you more hungry, fasting actually reduces hunger when done right. It sounds crazy, but it's true.
Reason #2: Increased Metabolism
Where most standard calorie deficit diets have a negative impact on your metabolism, fasting has the opposite effect. The research is showing that with the right fasting length, your resting energy expenditure increases rather than decreases. That means more calories burned with less effort.
